On completion of this unit, learners will have the skills and knowledge required to Induct Security Personnel in the context of their work. They will be able to:
1. Prepare to induct security officer
2. Conduct induction on access control
3. Conduct induction on patrolling
4. Conduct induction on security and alarm systems
5. Conduct induction on reception duties
Upon completion of the course, learners will be prepared with the necessary skills to properly induct new security staff in accordance with company policies. They will also be equipped with the necessary and relevant supervisory and managerial abilities to induct security staff and be able to apply them in the workplace as a Security Supervisor.
Assumed attitudes
• Learners must be self-motivated, demonstrate a positive attitude and be ready and willing to learn.
• Have a genuine interest in applying and using the skills and knowledge they learn.
Assumed Skills and Knowledge
Learners are assumed to have been able to:
• read, write and speak English at Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 4
• manipulate numbers at Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 4
Experience in security related industry
• New and existing Senior Security Officers and Security Supervisors
Physical and medical requirement
• Certified by a medical doctor to be physically fit for work.
